The KFS member of staff established a welfare association in august of 2002.

The association has now attracted 197 members out of a total of 212 members of staff.

Membership to this association is voluntary. For a member to be registered they first have to pay a registration fee of kshs.500 and a monthly contribution of Kshs.1000.

The main objectives of the association are:

to promote thought among its members by affording them an opportunity for accumulating their savings and to create thereby a source of funds for which mutual help on matters of social interest can be affected.

to develop and promote income generating activities/ services aimed at utilizing to the fullest all available resources to the benefit of the members at a subsidised rate. e.g. canteen services, welfare bus, club house. e.t.c. to involve members in re-creative ( sporting) activities aimed at fostering co-operation, teamwork and goodwill amongst members as well as promoting good health. the association is non political.

To date, the association has paid out 2.6 million as consolation for bereaved members of staff and as cash gifts to retirees.
